Best of Both Worlds showing Fossil Creek UA Cinema, Fort Worth TX An enjoyable time was had at the Fossil Creek Cinema. In attendance were Colonel Clark, LCDR Clark, Ensign & Mrs. Brulotte (always nice to see Melissa!), LTJG Cross, Ensign Fralicks and Ensign Barnett, as well as our special guest Gen. Aaron Murphy. The show included some commentary from the cast & crew of the episode (on film, of course), the two-part episode in all its restored glory, and an amazing blooper reel. We passed out a few flyers & business cards; few people knew there was a Star Trek Fan Club in Fort Worth. One gentleman, Eric, seemed especially interested, and we hope we hear from him soon. The show let out around 2120 hrs, and we all made our way back to our quarters to rest up a bit for our regular duties on Friday. I will be taking a shuttle to Austin, to attend the 3BDE Muster. I'll be next writing in this Blog there.

Regulator Game Half-Day, Pizza Hut, Decatur, TX The crew of the Regulator were joined by our friends from the 340th MEU for a whole lot of fun. A total of fourteen of us (eight Regulators and six from the 340th) sat down for some pizza, drinks, and a wide variety of games. In addition to Star Trek: Catan (above), we had Star Trek UNO, Star Wars Life (A Jedi's Path), Trouble (with Tribbles), Castle Panic, and a card game whose name escapes me. The Hot Wheels tournament didn't get underway, although we all enjoyed playing with the cars. The day started at around 3pm, and we didn't leave until after 9pm. The Pizza Hut was wonderful to us, and would love to have us back for some future activity. Everyone had fun, and I'm hoping to schedule another one of these Game Days in the not-too-distant future. Good Day to Dine, Fort Worth Stockyards Colonel Clark and Lieutenant Commander Clark took a shuttle to Fort Worth, to join with representatives of the IKV Melota, the USS Joshua, the USS Trinity River, and the IKS Maelstrom to celebrate the Lone Star Warriror's Association's Good Day to Dine for the month of March, 2013. Many tourists excitedly took photographs of the warriors as we walked through the stockyards. Eventually, the group settled upon a hamburger place called "Trail Boss Burgers" to seize and take over. This was probably a poor decision, as the servants were sub-par, and the food was, at best, marginally acceptable. Many stores were thereafter visited, and some items were acquired by the visiting warriors. The next Good Day to Dine will be on Sunday June 30, at 1500 hours, at Yummy's Greek Restaurant, 210 W. University Dr, Denton, TX 76201. Lieutenant Cross has returned from the away mission to ALL*CON, and posted this report: On March 8th 2013 a small landing party from the U.S.S. Regulator took 3 days of shore leave at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Addison TX. On that Friday morning LTJG Michael Cross, Ensign Katelyn Barnett, Ensign Amanda Fralicks and civilians Kristen Barnett and Jake Kuykendall loaded up the PT Enterprise and headed up the road for ALL-CON. |
