Good Day to Dine, Fort Worth Stockyards Colonel Clark and Lieutenant Commander Clark took a shuttle to Fort Worth, to join with representatives of the IKV Melota, the USS Joshua, the USS Trinity River, and the IKS Maelstrom to celebrate the Lone Star Warriror's Association's Good Day to Dine for the month of March, 2013. Many tourists excitedly took photographs of the warriors as we walked through the stockyards. Eventually, the group settled upon a hamburger place called "Trail Boss Burgers" to seize and take over. This was probably a poor decision, as the servants were sub-par, and the food was, at best, marginally acceptable. Many stores were thereafter visited, and some items were acquired by the visiting warriors. The next Good Day to Dine will be on Sunday June 30, at 1500 hours, at Yummy's Greek Restaurant, 210 W. University Dr, Denton, TX 76201.

Lieutenant Cross has returned from the away mission to ALL*CON, and posted this report: On March 8th 2013 a small landing party from the U.S.S. Regulator took 3 days of shore leave at the Crown Plaza Hotel in Addison TX. On that Friday morning LTJG Michael Cross, Ensign Katelyn Barnett, Ensign Amanda Fralicks and civilians Kristen Barnett and Jake Kuykendall loaded up the PT Enterprise and headed up the road for ALL-CON. The "Paxton Boys" had to make a last-minute tactical adjustment for the meeting of the West Shore Science Fiction Society (WSSFS). Their normal meeting location, Jabronee's, was unexpectedly closed, so they instead met at the Giant Food Store - Camp Hill Mall in the coffee cafe. Games played include Wacky Wacky West, Martian Dice & Martian Fluxx, and Centinels Multiverse, and a report on Gallifrey One (15-17 Feb 2013, Los Angeles, CA) was heard. Other games on hand (but not played) were Ricochet Rock Jockey, Alien Frontiers, Dino Hunt Dice, Rocket Jockey -- a "Firefly" card game, kinda -- Impossible Machine, and Incan Gold. Overall, 11 people attended, and fun was had by all. Plans were made to attend the showing of "Best of Both Worlds, Pt 1 and 2" in Harrisburg, PA, (at the Harrisburg Stadium 14 -- Regal Hoyts) to enjoy the showing and to recruit for the USS Regulator and the WSSFS. We had guests onboard the USS Regulator today: Commodore Reed Bates, Rear Admiral Marian Murphy, Colonel Mike Tolleson. COMM Bates informed us all about the upcoming election for Regional Coordinator (she is running for a third term). RADM Murphy let us know some more details about International Conference, of which she is Chairperson. Ship members in attendance: COL Clark, COMM Goulet, CDR Crouch, LCDR Clark, ENS Brulotte, and PO1 Goulet. In addition to our two new Local members (Crewman Ben Hodges and Crewman Brittnie Hodges) who joined earlier this week, Crewman Alisha Morgan and her parents Pat and John Morgan transfered their memberships to the USS Regulator. A hearty welcome to them all! (This brings our membership status to 19 National, 3 Local, 2 Honorary.) No further nominations were made for next month's elections. Assuming the status quo continues, the Department Heads for the Bridge Specialist Department and the Security Department will be LT(JG) Michael Cross and ENS Perry Brulotte, respectively. The Science Department still lacks a department head, and it appears I will be re-elected as Commanding Officer without opposition. As of the beginning of the meeting, the ship has $33.67 in our treasury, all from dues and one donation, and no current expenses. After-Action Reports were heard about "A Good Day to Die Hard" and the Fairpoint convention. Department heads that were present also reported their department's status. We reviewed upcoming Ship's activities, including the Game Half-Day and the Best of Both Worlds showing at the Fossil Creek UA 11 cinema. An idea was circulated about dedicating one month of the Ship's Year to the Mirror-Mirror Universe. Our own variations of the "Mirrorverse" uniforms would be worn, and the predictable assassination attempts would be made on the ship's captain (or other senior officers.) This idea was met with great excitement. ENS Brulotte was assigned the task of coming up with guidelines on "assassinations." The month has yet to be determined, either, but holiday weekends (Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day) were mentioned. |
