Lone Star Warrior's Association Good Day to Dine Yummy's Greek Restaurant, Denton, TX The USS Regulator sent a landing party to Denton, TX to rendezvous with members of the IKV Melota, the USS Trinity River, the IKS Maelstrom, and the USS Joshua. As Klingons, we all invaded Yummy's Restaurant, a small provider of food from the region of Earth called "Greece." Regulator crew included Klark, the ship's Captain; Kalamity, the Chief Medical Officer; and Crewman Colin Gabbert. The food was good, and except for the leaves-in-a-bowl the Earther kuve called "salads", was easy to eat properly -- with the hands. The company was enjoyable, and many stories of glorious deeds were shared. When we were finished with our repast, a decision was made for the location of the next Good Day to Dine: we will be invading Pappadeaux Seafood Restaurant in Arlington, on Sunday 29 September 2013 (Stardate 11309.29), at 1600 hours (4pm). The combined landing party then signed a document stating that the inhabitants of "Yummy's" were conquered this day (in Earther-speak, it was referred to as a "Certificate of Appreciation") and we adjourned. Three of the shuttles then proceeded to a store called "Jo'Anns fabriqs," at which we requisitioned materials for the construction of additional Klingon clothing. This was a wonderful day, wherin all of today's members of the Lone Star Warrior's Association gathered unto themselves much glory and honor.

Ship's Meeting, Shady Oaks BBQ, Ft Worth, TX. We held another fantastic meeting. Members present included: BDR Clark, COMM Goulet, LCDR Clark, LTJG Cross, ENS Fralicks, MCPO Goulet, PO1 Goulet, PO2 Chaffin, and Crewman Kuykendall. Our newest member, Juanita Stone also was in attendance, as was Colin Gabbert. After starting the Trivia Quiz (this month's subject: Vulcans), BDR Clark promoted Juanita Stone to Ensign, as she had passed the OTS course. Bravo Zulu, Ensign Stone! She's temporarily assigned to the Counselor's Department, as a member of the Chaplain Corps. Upcoming events and activities were discussed, including July's Landing Party/Meeting at the Grapevine (TX), Convention & Visitor's Bureau, at which there are over 100 items on loan from the Kennedy Space Center in Houston. We'll be meeting there at 1pm, and eating lunch nearby afterwards. Lt Cronatzer was not able to attend; his report on USS Regulator T-Shirts will be accordingly delayed. We may also attempt to hold another Game Half-day in the first half of July -- probably on the 2nd Saturday of the month. Plans for Mirror Month continue. The First Officer has been scouting locations, including a park near her quarters. The ship may move the date for October's Klingon Dinner Thing from our normal third Saturday, to enable a Landing Party to explore the Air Show at Alliance Airport on 19 Oct. Suggested dates include 05 Oct and 12 Oct.... but the latter is the same weekend as Fan Fest. Following the meeting, members of the crew attended the Fort Worth Cats baseball game at LaGrave Field. Although we left early in the second game of the doubleheader, the Cats soundly thrashed the McAllen Thunder, 15-3, and there was much rejoicing. It's been decided that the July meeting will be held in Grapevine, following an expedition to the Grapevine NASA Blast at Grapevine's Convention & Visitor's Bureau. The exhibit features more than 100 items on loan from the Kennedy Space Center in Houston including an original Apollo Space Suit and a model Space Shuttle. Following the expedition, we'll go somewhere nearby for a late lunch. Trivia this month was provided by MCPT Marchant, and he also gave out prizes for first and last place. BDR Clark won the first price --- a model of the Black Knight from Monty Python and the Holy Grail, whilst last place honors -- and the accompanying fez -- went to PO1 Goulet. LT Cornatzer has volunteered to get Regulator shirts made up for his Spreadshirt store, so we'll all be able to get Ship Shirts. He'll be working with ENS Barnett for the graphic designs. Lastly, PO Goulet will be bringing cupcakes to the June meeting to celebrate the birthdays of the crew that occurred in the first half of this year. Clark, commanding Regulator, out. |
