PA Gamemaster's Report:
The game I talked about during the last meeting is Dice Masters, The set out is Marvel Avengers Vs X-men. It is a 2 player dueling game with dice instead of cards. The makers is Wizkids, the maker of Quarriors, Star Trek Attack Wing, and Hero Clix. This one looks like a winner to me if Wizkids don't hurt it too much before it gets started. They short printed it but they are making a 2nd print run due out in about 2 months. The starter is $15 and the boosters packs are &0.99 a pack. The starter will play work for beginner games for 2 people. with a few packs will have enough for a fun game between 2 people. I do think we will see rules for more then 2 people games over time. If you like games like Magic The Gathering you will want to take a look at this game. There are more sets coming both Marvel and DC plus some other worlds as well( not all comic books either). Okay now for the surprise game in my report. My copy of Galactic Strike Force came in today. I invested in the Kick Starter about 9 months ago was to come out the end of the summer. Well it is early. I am still reading the rules but I thought the foreword in the instructions would give you an idea about the game. WELCOME TO THE GALAXY, SCOUNDRELS! Galactic Strike Force is a cooperative strategic card game in which 2 to 6 players each take control of a ship and crew in defense of the galaxy! Arrayed against the Strike Force are the Opposition forces - powerful threats to galactic civilization. Something must be done to stop them! Yet there are no stalwart defenders or space cops willing or able to act, instead, a ragtag team from the galactic underworld is all that prevents total galactic domination. Smugglers, pirates, gun runners, bounty hunters, information brokers, and other seedy sorts must come together to defend tthe galaxy! Game Master, Eugene

Ship's Meeting Shady Oaks BBQ, Fort Worth, TX 1700 HRS First order of business in May was a brief meeting of the Department Heads. Departments represented: Medical, Communications, Councilor, Bridge Specialists, and Deck Division (Boatswain) -- 5 out of 7. The DH's met to fill vacancies at Chief Science Officer and Chief of Security, in accordance with General Order 3.1.A. LTJG Colin Gabbert was appointed to the position of Chief Science Officer. LT Scott Cornatzer was appointed to the position of Chief of Security. After this business, the DH meeting was adjourned, and the regular Crew meeting was called to order. In attendance this month were: BDR Tank Clark, COMM Liz Goulet, CDR Cynthia Crouch, CDR Tracy Clark, LT Scott Cornatzer, LT Michael Cross, CWO Glen Wilkerson, MCPO Alan Goulet, and CPO Michelle Goulet. MCPT Roon Marchant, LTJG Perry Brulotte, and LTJG Sean Washburn were on an Away Team to Dallas ComiCon. This month's trivia quiz was on Disney Villians (in honor of the upcoming movie, "Malevelant." Three of the crew scored a 90%, so a d3 was rolled to determine the winner of the prize, a movie poster from Star Trek: Generations. The ship agreed that we would contribute our $15.00 RAP, at Summit. Only three members have indicated that they would attend Summit & Muster this year (the Captain, the CMO, and CWO Wilkerson). As Liz Goulet indicated she was not going to attend, she was "frocked" to Rear Admiral (with the official date of promotion being in June 2014). Congratulations to our new admiral, and may God have mercy on her soul. After-Action reports were received on Godzilla (by Lt Cornatzer -- a positive report on a recommended movie) and on Texas Frightmare Weekend (by Lt Cross, a wonderful, fun-filled convention at which we may try to make an official presence in the future.) After a review of our upcoming calendar, we discussed the possibility of the USS REGULATOR taking "point" on putting on a Region 3 Summit in the future (2016 at the earliest). Thoughts included using a hotel in Grapevine, TX, so that we could have a Sunday trip to Fort Worth Stockyards via the Tarantula steam train; using Main Event for a Laser Tag event for the Marines, possibly getting the old cinema on Main Street to show Wrath of Khan (as they usually do a couple of times a year anyway.) It was agreed that "the same old Summit" should be avoided; that if we do this, we should get everything organized and announced early & often, and that we should make the rest of the Region jealous that they aren't Regulators. The ship agreed to actively research putting on a summit, and the Captain has permission to discuss this with the RC. Clark, commanding REGULATOR, out. |
